El Clan is Film!CanaryIslands second feature film (the other being La Decisión de Los Lupano, filmed earlier this year) and is an action thriller, set in the Canary Islands during the 1930's & 40's. The script was written by Jaime Falermo & Pedro J Mérida and the film was directed by Jaime Falero and Produced by Norbert A Schilling.

'El Clan' is a thriller brought to the screen by the Canarian production company Film!CanaryIslands and shot on the Island of Tenerife in September and October of 2011. With the screenplay by Jaime Falero and Pedro J. Mérida El Clan is directed by Jaime Falero ("Por dinero negro", 2006) and is the director's feature film debut. This exciting thriller is set in the Canary Islands sometime in the 1930s or 40s and features promising young actors such as Octavi Pujades ("Piratas", 2011), Borja Elgea ("La Comunidad", 2002), as well as the talented young Canary Islanders Domingo de Luis and Francisco Vera for whom this is their first feature film as leading actors. The cast includes well-known faces from the world of Spanish cinema such as Pepe Sancho ("Crematorio", 2011), Beatriz Rico ("Un paso adelante", 2002-2005), Carlos Lasarte ("REC", 2007) and Carla Sanchez ("Canciones de Amor en Lolita’s Club", 2007); they are accompanied, in addition, by other Canarian actors like Vicente Ayala, Ricardo Chaste, Khaled Kouda and the French-Palmeran Didier Roussel.

Synopsis:
Sometime in the 1930's & 40s, a city anywhere. A mysterious stranger offers four inseparable friends, who aspire to be a "gang", a dangerous job which is about to bring a twist to their lives and take them on a journey with no return. Ricardo (Francisco Vera), an ambitious shoeshine boy, Amador (Octavi Pujades), who takes part in illicit bare-fist fights in ship's holds, Marcelo (Domingo de Luis), who wanted to be an accountant but ended up as a mortuary cosmetician and Antonio (Borja Elgea), a mechanic whose greatest weakness is other men's wives, are to change their lives for ever when they accept the tempting offer of a better life. But, as it turns out, "El Clan" are to be the "prey" in a very cruel game…
Production, setting, sound track and special effects: With a production and technical team from the Islands made up of more than 40 people headed by Film!CanaryIslands' producer, Norbert A. Schilling, the ambience of the two decades covered in the plot has been faithfully recreated under the artistic direction of the Cuban production designer, Juan Carlos Sanchez Lezcano in association with the stage designer and scenographer, Gustavo Benítez. Yolanda Ferrera, Jannie Stax and Kike Román were in charge of the excellent characterization. The director of photography was the Canarian Santiago Torres Marrero. Jaime Falero and Vasni Ramos, also from the Canaries, are
responsible for the editing. Fourteen locations from Puerto de la Cruz to San Cristóbal de La Laguna were used, foremost among them was the emblematic La Palma packet steamer, the social clubs "Casino de Santa Cruz de Tenerife" and "Círculo de Amistad XII de Enero" recreate in detail the singular atmosphere of those decades. With this objective in mind, 120 background performers and bit players were employed, all authentically characterized.
