July 2011 - Montevideo - Feature Film - Intermedia Network - Serbia

 Montevideo, God Bless You, is the ambitious follow up to Montevideo, Taste of a Dream the 2010 Serbian film directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić about the events leading to the participation of the Yugoslavia national football team at the first FIFA World Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay in July 1930. This first film has gained considerable media attention and since its release in December 2010, has achieved significant box office success in Serbia, and was also awarded the 'Audience Choice Award' for best film in the main competition program at the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival.

This sequel, tells the story of the the football team's stay in Uruguay during the World Cup, and due to it's impressive colonial architecture, Tenerife was chosen as the location to portray Montevideo in 1930, and Film!CanaryIslands as it's local service provider. Under the supervision of our Service Producer, Norbert A Schilliing, 25 of our production crew joined the 70 or so team from Serbia, for 3 weeks of intense and complex shooting involving more than 500 "extras" roles and large street scenes requiring extensive art direction.

Originally it was planned to complete the film in either Italy or Uruguay, later in the year, but after finding suitable locations in Tenerife, the crew will return for 4 weeks in November to complete the final scenes. We wish all our new Serbian friends lot's of success, and we look forward to their return later in the year!
